We will explore models for engagement and empowerment, prioritizing and defining equity across communities, how biodiversity and natural elements can play a role in healthy urban futures, and ways to reduce climate impacts for all. We will explore how urban health can connect with other urban and global agendas, such as climate change, planetary health and sustainable development. During this year’s conference, we aim to connect all global stakeholders working within the urban health realm to drive action and ensure equity across cities and regions. The theme for ICUH 2022 is Growing Our Global Community. The ICUH serves as a key convergence point to advance and support the generation, exchange, and application of urban health programs and policies. Cross-sectoral collaboration and multidisciplinary training and action are needed to better bridge disciplines and better define urban health within a global context. There is a growing body of urban health research and evidence, yet gaps exist in knowledge generation, translation, and application for urban design and health practice.

Professor Dame Sally Davies, Chief Medical Officer, will be giving a keynote address.Ībstracts on new public health research, innovations and developments in practice are invited for submission by 8 May for potential poster presentation at the conference. The International Society for Urban Health (ISUH) is delighted to invite you to join our 18th International Conference on Urban Health (ICUH) taking place in Valencia, Spain, 24-27 October 2022. The tuberculosis event at the conference was organised by UCL-TB Director Professor Ibrahim Abubakar and will feature Tim Peto, Dominik Zenner and Professor Andrew Hayward. We anticipate that the conference will be of interest to representatives from across the health and social care system interested in applied prevention research, programmes and policy.
